Frequently Asked Questions
Here you will
find the answers to frequently asked questions about
our image prints and photo restoration services.
About
the Image Prints
Are the printed images signed by the artist?
Yes! They are individually
signed (discretely) by the artists’ own hand.
What type of paper and ink is used to reproduce
the images?
The images are printed
on Archival heavy-weight Matte finish paper with pigment inks.
How long will the image last?
Based on the paper and
ink manufacturers claims, about 80 years. This is many years longer than
a regular photograph. Of course it depends on the conditions under which
you display the image.
How should I display the image?
For best results, place
the image in a frame under glass (not plastic) and do not display it in
direct sunlight or in high humidity. If you matte it, be sure to use an
acid free matte board. Your local framing shop can be a big help to you
on this subject.
How
will my Fine Art Print(s) be shipped to me?
They will be shipped in
a stiff protected envelope via First Class Mail so they will not get creased
or damaged.
What do I do if the prints are damaged when
I receive them?
Email us immediately,
detailing the type of damage and the condition of the envelope. We will
reply within 24 hours with instructions on rectifying the situation to
your satisfaction.
About
Restoration Services
What is the maximum size ‘original’
you can restore?
Currently we can handle
originals up to 8.5 in. by 11 in.
What about the Permanency of the restored image
prints?
The prints of the restored
image are printed on archival matte paper using pigment inks and the manufacturer
tests indicate they will last up to 80 years; of course this depends on
how you display and store the prints (see Q/A above under “image
prints”).
Can I get additional prints of a restored image?
Yes! We realized that
many times other family members want a print of the same image you want
restored so we have placed an ‘additional prints’ section
at the bottom of the restoration order form. Additional prints are priced
by the 8.5 x 11 sheet. You can get four 3x5 prints, two 5x7 prints or
one 8x10 print per sheet. Each sheet is $15.00 and you can cut them as
you need them.
